Quarantine only really comes in to play when exporting pets to Australia and New Zealand (although there are some other exceptions). Recent changes in these countries mean that pets only need to be quarantined for 10 days, and owners will be emailed upon their pets' arrival at the quarantine station.
Whilst in quarantine, your pet will be looked after by the quarantine station staff, and you as the owner can telephone the quarantine station to enquire as to the well-being of your pet, but visiting them in Australia is unfortunately no longer allowed. We have first-hand experience of the various quarantine stations in Australia, with Chris having visited all existing stations in the country.
